Conference Speaker

Our Keynote Speaker will be Susan Coll-Guedes

Susan Coll-Guedes is an artist, educator, and nationally recognized disability rights advocate. A recipient of the SPAN Advocacy Parent Champion Award, she became a public voice for change during a 297-day hospitalization at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she documented her fight to bring her son, Alex, home with proper supports instead of an institutional placement.
For over two decades, Susan has empowered hundreds of families navigating special education and the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities systems. She serves on the Board of the Atlantic Center for Independent Living, is a past president of the Art in Special Education Interest Group of the National Art Education Association, and is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree, researching Medicaid HCBS reform in New Jersey.
