Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact Initiative Webinar
Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 7:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

The New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association (NJOTA) is pleased to announce a free webinar open to all licensed OT practitioners and students in New Jersey regarding the Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact Initiative.

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT®) have been collaborating to create the OT Licensure Compact.

Under the OT Compact, Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) who are licensed in good standing in a Compact member state may practice in other Compact member states via a “compact privilege,” which is equivalent to a license.

This presentation will outline the purpose and benefits of a licensure compact, address the advocacy needed to establish a compact, and provide an update regarding which states have enacted compact legislation or plan to pursue legislation in the future.

The NJOTA Board of Directors has discussed the possibility of introducing OT Compact legislation in New Jersey and is seeking feedback from licensed OTs, OTAs and OT students.    The purpose of the webinar is to provide information about the OT compact initiative in general as well as the possible implications for OT practitioners and students in New Jersey.

The webinar will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, April 19 at 7pm Eastern.     Pre-registration is not required.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
